In December of 1974, Glenn D. Goetz, a native of Hazen, ND, and his wife Ruth, purchased the business known as Henne Funeral Home from Robert Henne, the area's first local funeral home owner. In 1975, Goetz Funeral Home was founded. Glenn & Ruth Goetz owned and operated the family business for 27 years and raised 2 children, Kimberly and David. Glenn & Ruth retired from funeral service in December 2002 and sold the family business to Nathan P. Grubb and his wife, Andrea, in January of 2003.
In July 2013, Paul Sannes joined the funeral home as a staff member. Paul and his wife, Tammi, are 1991 graduates of the University of Minnesota. Paul managed Myers Funeral Home in Linton, ND, for 15 years before moving to Washburn.
Paul and Tammi Purchased Goetz Funeral Homes in September of 2018. Paul and Tammi have three sons, William, Jack, & Charlie. The Sannes family resides in Washburn and will continue to serve the area communities with sincere and distinctive funeral service.
