Obituary

William "Bill" G. Wilson Sr., age 76 of Coleharbor, ND, died June 23, 2012 at his home following a long battle with myelofibrosis.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30 A.M. Friday, June 29th at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Riverdale, ND with Pastor John Nilsen officiating. Burial will follow in the Coleharbor Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. Thursday at Goetz Funeral Chapel in Underwood.

Bill was born December 1, 1935 in Hettinger, ND to Tolof & Florence (Shillingstad) Wilson. He was baptized at the Lodgepole Lutheran Church and raised in Lodgepole, SD. His father died in 1946 and his family moved to Gateway, ND. Bill was confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Riverdale and graduated from Coleharbor High School in 1954. On June 14, 1960, he married Shirley Lauer in Detroit Lakes, MN. They made their home in Coleharbor where they raised their children. Bill spent his life doing what he most enjoyed, farming and ranching. He loved to spend time with family and friends and in his later years adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bill was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.

He served on many committees and boards, including the Farm Credit Services Board of Directors for 19 years, the Farmers Elevator of Underwood, Women's Outreach of Washburn, St. Andrew's Lutheran Church Council, and the Coleharbor City Council.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Shirley Wilson of Coleharbor; two sons, Willie (Nancy) Wilson of Coleharbor, & Frederick (Becki) Wilson of Underwood; one daughter, Connie Meier of Underwood; 11 grandchildren & 5 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Anderson of Minot; two brothers, Mark (Kathy) Wilson of Modesto, CA, & Mike Wilson of Pella, IA.

Bill was preceded in death by one infant son (David), his parents (Tolof & Florence), & step-father (Earl Fox).
