Obituary

Wayne L. Lindseth, 68, of Blackduck, MN, formerly of Tower, MN, died Sunday, September 19, 2021 in a Fargo, ND hospital.  A memorial graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Turtle Lake Township Cemetery, rural Bemidji, MN.

Wayne was born on January 26, 1953 in Bemidji, MN, the son of James and Norma (Welch) Lindseth.  Wayne was raised on the Iron Range, attending Virginia High School.  During high school, he played hockey.  He graduated from high school in 1971.  Following high school, Wayne enlisted in the National Guard, following in his father's footsteps along with his 3 brothers, Harold, Ken and Jeff.

Wayne married Jane Pratt at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on October 6, 1973.  Wayne and Jane lived in the Tower area for many years, where they raised their family.

At the age of 19, Wayne began his career working with Mintac, during this time, he worked on the drill and blast crew.  He was also a team lead.  He made many lifelong friends during his 32 years of working in the mines.

Wayne was also an EMT and a first responder for the Tower Ambulance for several years.  Wayne loved to hunt, fish and work with Dymond Willow, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.  He also enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins, but when they started losing, he would turn the channel to "Gunsmoke".

Wayne and Jane moved to Blackduck, MN to be closer to family where they lived until his death.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jane of Blackduck, MN, a son:  Jerime (Tiffany) of Gilbert, MN; a daughter, Emily (Joe) Marthaler of Blackduck, MN; one granddaughter, Serenity Marthaler (who is in the National Guard like her grandpa), 5 grandsons:  Wade Lovett, Logan Marthaler, Brennett Marthaler, Aden Lindseth and Hudson Lindseth; his sister, Kathy LeMoine, Bemidji, MN; 2 brothers:  Ken Lindseth, of Eveleth, MN and Jeff (Kathy) Lindseth of Bemidji, MN, several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Norma Lindseth and a brother Harold James and aunts and uncles.
