Wanda L. Tjenstrom, 86, Bismarck, ND formerly of Washburn, ND died August 30, 2014 in the Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, Bismarck. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Friday September, 5, 2014 at McCabe United Methodist Church, Bismarck. Officiating will be the Rev. Jenny Hallenbeck. Interment will be in the Riverview Cemetery, Washburn. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Thursday at the Goetz Funeral Home. Washburn. Visitation will continue one hour before services on Friday at the church.

Wanda was born September 10, 1927 in Washburn the daughter of Ruben and Ruby (White) Scholl. She was raised and educated in Washburn. Wanda graduated from the Washburn High School in 1945. She married Charles Warren Tjenstrom on January 28, 1946 in Glendive, MT. Wanda was a secretary for local businesses including Brown Insurance, Nordquist Brothers Implement and the Washburn High School. She also served as secretary/treasurer for the McLean County Fair Association for 25 years.
Wanda and Charles moved to Bismarck in December of 1995. She entered the Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center in January of 2010.

Wanda was a member of the McCabe United Methodist Church, Washburn American Legion Auxiliary, Neighborly Homemakers Club and United Methodist Women.

Wanda is survived by her husband Charles of Bismarck; Daughters: Carla (Walt) Elliott of Phoenix, AZ, Patricia (Jerry) Elliott of Phoenix, AZ, Charlene (Jeffrey) Peel of Mt. Zion, IL; 5 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers: Charles, Robert and Leonard; two sisters: Marie Pocta and Anita Meisner.

Memorials are preferred to McCabe United Methodist Church or the Lewis & Clark Foundation-Washburn.
