Vivian Brewster,95, formerly of Mercer, ND passed away Sunday, May 27, 2018 at CHI Community Memorial Hospital, Turtle Lake from the effects of pneumonia. Vivian has chosen to be cremated. Please join us in celebrating Vivian's life at 10:30 on Friday, June 15, 2018 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Mercer with Pastor Randy Emgarten officiating. Following a brief ceremony at the Mercer Hillside Cemetery, lunch will be served at the Mercer community center.

Vivian was born September 25th, 1922 to John and Anna (Anderson) Oberg in Washburn. She was the youngest of six children. She married Howard Brewster on May 20, 1939. They initially farmed near Underwood and in 1958 moved to a farm north of Mercer. After selling their farm, they moved into Mercer and owned and operated a restaurant and later a bar. Vivian spent the last several years of her life with the caring staff at CHI Community Memorial Hospital in Turtle Lake.

Vivian's greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family and preparing her delicious meals and desserts.

Vivian was the beloved mother of five children: Leslie (Marlys) Brewster, Tom Brewster, Karen (Myron) Just, Judy (Gordon) Westerlind, and Randy (Sandy) Brewster. Vivian was blessed with sixteen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, and eleven great- great-grandchildren.

Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, three sisters, husband, son, son-in-law and one grandson. Vivian will be greatly missed by her family and all who had the privilege to know her.

In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to the Mercer Hillside Cemetery.
