Violet M. Walcker, 88, formerly of Underwood, ND passed away April 2, 2020 surrounded by her family at Trinity Home, Minot, ND. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of her life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at Faith Evangelical Church, Underwood. Inurnment will be held in the Turtle Lake Cemetery.
Violet Marie Walcker was born August 25, 1931 on a farm near Turtle Lake the daughter of Phillip and Lena (Hoffman) Walcker. She attended school in Turtle Lake. She was once married to Johnnie Walcker and from this union seven children were born. Violet attended Minot Business College and Joseph's Hair School. She worked as a hair stylist at JcPenney for a short time. She then returned to Underwood and was a caregiver for her mother, Lena and several others in Underwood and Garrison.
She loved many different activities including, cooking, baking, church, gardening and canning vegetables. Her most "passionate" activity was making homemade donuts for all who stopped by her apartment for a visit. She enjoyed the visits with family, friends and especially her grandchildren.
Violet is survived by her children, Ron Walcker of Underwood, Janey (Doug) Pearson of Glenburn, ND, Jim (Pat) Walcker of Phoenix, AZ, Penny Walcker of Underwood, Saundra (John) Nolden of Minot, Julie (Steve) Arnold of Underwood; her sister, Louise (Bryan) Grondahl of Turtle Lake; her sister-in-law, Bev Walcker of Underwood; her brother-in-law, Layton Freborg of Bismarck; 13 grandchildren and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Billy; a granddaughter, Adrianne; her sister Delila and her brothers, Ted, Ray, Willie and Milton "Lefty".
She will be deeply missed by all her family, friends and all the many lives she touched with her smile.
