Viola M. Seeger, age 95 of Turtle Lake, ND passed away Thursday, June 17, 2010 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Turtle Lake.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, June 21st at the Turtle Lake United Methodist Church with Pastor Ross Reinhiller officiating.

Burial will be in the Turtle Lake Cemetery

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday at Goetz Funeral Home in Turtle Lake and will continue Monday, one hour prior to time of service at the church.

Viola was born August 5, 1914 in Turtle Lake, ND to Jacob & Pauline (Blumhagen) Haas. She attended elementary school and two years of high school in Turtle Lake. At age 16, she moved to New Rockford, ND with her father and step-mother, Mary. Viola graduated from New Rockford High School and continued her education at the Valley City State Teachers College for two years. She returned to rural Turtle Lake to begin her teaching career. Viola married John O. Seeger on May 29, 1936 at the farm home of her mother and step-father, Ben Hanson. Viola and John farmed north of Turtle Lake for many years. Her husband John passed away in 1990.

She is survived by two sons, Jon T. (Kathleen) Seeger & Steven T. (Avis) Seeger, both of Turtle Lake; grandchildren & great-grandchildren, Christopher (Kersten) Seeger and children Linden & Sage of Boone, IA, KariAnn (Andrew) Buntrock of Bismarck, Travis (fiancée Amanda) Seeger of Fargo, & Robyn (Tom) Widner and children Dylan & Owen of Stephen, MN; two sisters, DonnaMae (Richard) Bilquist of Alamo, ND, & Jeanne Duncan of Billings, MT.

Viola was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, & one sister.
