Troy Wohlk, 41, of Washburn, ND passed away Monday, Sept. 27, 2010 near Turtle Lake, ND from injuries sustained in an auto accident.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30 AM Friday, Oct. 1st at First Lutheran Church in Washburn with Pastor Erik Johnson officiating.

Interment will follow in the Riverview Cemetery, Washburn.

Visitation will be held from 5:30 PM – 8:00 PM Thursday at Goetz Funeral Home in Washburn.

Troy Dean Wohlk was born Feb. 8, 1969 in Garrison, ND to Delroy & Marilyn (Weigum) Wohlk. He was raised and educated in Underwood and graduated from Underwood High School in 1987. As a teenager he worked as a hired hand on a couple of area farms. Following his high school graduation he moved to Bismarck and attended Bismarck Junior College. Troy later worked as a heavy equipment operator in Fort Collins, CO for a short time. He returned to North Dakota and worked for Lindamen Construction where he met the love of his life, Linda. In 1993, Troy, Linda, and her children Kasey and Korey moved to Washburn. He started working seasonally at Falkirk Mine as well as driving semi-truck on his off months from the mine. Troy later became employed full-time with Falkirk Mine. In 1998, he and his family moved to their ranch home outside of Washburn. Troy and Linda were married at their home on June 11, 1999. In 2006, Troy and Linda started their own business, Wohlk Manure Hauling. He was extremely proud of the accomplishments he and Linda made with the business and wasn't afraid to announce it with his hats. Troy enjoyed life to the fullest and loved horses and team roping. He also loved racing and fixing up Mopar "muscle" cars according to HIS standards. Troy had a love for the outdoors and would find any excuse to be outside. He was well-known for his witty sense of humor and his strong work ethic. He brought smiles to many people and will be greatly missed.

Troy is survived by his wife, Linda Wohlk of Washburn; two children, Kacey of Alexandria, MN & Korey of Bismarck; his parents, Delroy & Marilyn Wohlk of Underwood; two grandmothers and one grandfather, Evelyth Wohlk of Garrison, and Laurence & Ruby Engelman of Bismarck; one sister and brother-in-law, Tamie & Charlie Bisbee of Leeds, ND; three brothers-in-law, Vic (Daralyn) Stiefel of Bismarck, Bill Wilhelm, & Kelly Wilhelm, both of Beulah; one sister-in-law, Patty Wilhelm of Hopkins, MN; four nephews and three nieces, Seth Bisbee, Taylor Bisbee, "Little" Charlie Bisbee, Shila Stiefel, Jessica Stiefel, Trent Wilhelm, & Chance Wilhelm; five great nephews and one great niece; his special pal Dakota along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, & friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandfathers (Henry Wohlk & William Weigum), and mother-in-law (Nettie Wilhelm).
