Tim J. Nally, 67, of Washburn, ND, passed away on Saturday, March 20, 2010. Tim was born February 7, 1943 in Washington DC to Bernard Dare Daniels and Dorothy Bernice Donnelly. Tim spent most of his younger years in DC and St. Louis. Tim and his brother were later adopted by Thomas Nally and assumed his last name.
He worked for many years as a member of the Elevator Constructor's Union, installing and maintaining elevator equipment in Federal Government buildings in Washington, D.C. and walking steel on high-rise construction projects in St. Louis. Tim was an accomplished football player and boxer in his youth and continued to be an avid sports fan throughout his life. He enjoyed ice cream, music, reading, western movies and was known to head out driving without a destination in mind. He was the kind of man that would always stop and offer his help to anyone in need He was kind and fiercely loyal to those he called his friends. At the time of his death, Tim was working at Krause's Super Valu where he enjoyed many friendships and hoped to become the Dairy Manager.
He is survived by five sons, Timothy M. of Delaware, Joseph P. of Raddock Heights, MD, Christopher K. of Arroyo Grande, CA, Daniel V. of Orlando, FL, and Kerry A. of Abilene, TX; both of his former wives, Billie Sondberg of Nag's Head, NC and Theresa Helen (Breen) Nally of Forth Worth, TX; his brother, John Bernard (Daniels) Nally of Scottsburg, IN; as well as five grandsons, Cyrus, Hayden, Cullen, Quinn, and Cole.
He was preceded in death by his parents (named above) and his grandparents, John Edward Donnelly and Clara Ottelia Tepfer and Bernard Dare Daniels, Sr. and Mary O. Carmody.
Cremation has taken place. Tim's family is hosting a memorial open house on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Lewis and Clark Cafe on Main Street in Washburn. They invite you to come and share your stories and memories of Tim with them.
