Tom was born on June 11, 1953 in Turtle Lake, ND, the son of TeRoy and Marian (Christensen) Repnow. He was raised and educated in Underwood. Tom graduated from the Underwood High School in 1971. He attended NDSU in Fargo. He worked for Midway Furniture and Herberger's in Bismarck. Tom married his high school sweetheart, soulmate, and the love of his life, Delila Schell on November 23, 1974 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Underwood. Tom and Delila were truly devoted to one another, whether he was going out for 10 min or 10 hours, he was sure to give her a hug, kiss and say I love you. Following their marriage, Tom and Delila lived in Bismarck for a short time before moving back to Underwood. In Underwood, Tom and Delila operated the Coast to Coast Store which later became the Hardware Hank for 26 years. Tom went to work for Jack and Jill Grocery in Turtle Lake. He worked for the Underwood Public School for a short time. Most recently, Tom worked for the American Bank Center and had a highway contract with the US Postal Service for the past 25 years. If you traveled Highway 200 between Underwood and Mercer, he was sure to pass you with a friendly smile and wave. Every once in a while, the local authorities had to stop him and remind him the sign says "65".
Tom was a past member of the Underwood Volunteer Fire Department and Ambulance, Underwood City Commission, past president of the Underwood Civic Club, McLean County Red Cross, and the Underwood All School Reunion. He served as secretary of St. John's Lutheran Church where he was a lifelong member.
Tom and Delila raised three children. Family was a number one priority with them. Tom will be remembered for his strong love and devotion to his wife, his children and his grandchildren. I love you Tom, We love you Dad, and we love you Grandpa! Tom's little sidekick, Lucy, the family dog, loved going for rides with Tom and Delila. Tom enjoyed going to Blue Lake, where his cabin, "Willow Lodge" was located, named after Tom's favorite tree, the willow. This was Tom's sanctuary, a getaway for family and friends to enjoy. Tom loved the water, boating or just sitting on the porch watching the sun go down with Delila. Tom was so proud of his trees that he planted and cared for. Tom also had a passion for photography and left a legacy behind with all of his photo albums.
We are all heartbroken, but know you are resting now. You left your knowledge, love and skills with all of us. With this great gift we will pick up the broken pieces and put the puzzle back together.
Thank you, we love and miss you……….your family and friends.
