Thomas "Tom" Brewster, 79, of Mercer, ND died December 6, 2021 in the Garrison Memorial Hospital.  Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at the Mercer Community Center with Pastor Randy Emgarten officiating.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Friday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Mercer.  Interment will be held in the Mercer Hillside Cemetery.

Tom was born September 23, 1942 on a farm near Underwood, ND the son of Howard and Vivian (Oberg) Brewster.  He attended school in Riverdale and Mercer where he graduated from high school in 1960.  He married Janice Skaley and to this union there were five children and they later divorced.  Tom married Sandra Bergstrazer and to this union there was a son and they later divorced.  Tom lived in Underwood, Turtle Lake and Mercer while working for Falkirk Mine until retiring.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards and spending time with friends and family.  Tom served on the Mercer Park Board and was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed watching the Minnesota Vikings, Minnesota Twins and the NDSU Bison.

Tom is survived by his children, Rick Brewster of Ennis, MT, Shelly (Doral) Wallace of Minot, ND, Robin Brewster of Mercer, Chad (April) Brewster of Beulah, ND and Brody Brewster of Turtle Lake, ND; his step-sons, Mark Charboneau of Bismarck and Korrey (Cheri) Charboneau of Minot; 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; his brother and sisters-in-law, Leslie (Marlys) Brewster of Mercer and Sandy Brewster of Fargo, ND; his sisters, Karen Just of Mercer and Judy (Gordon) Westerlind of Big Lake, MN and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Shannon; a grandson, Austin Wallace and a brother, Randy.
