Steven J. Walcker, age 45 of Hazen, ND, formerly of Riverdale, died Thursday, January 8, 2009 at a Bismarck hospital from complications of a brain hemorrhage.

Funeral Services: 2:00 PM Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009;
Riverdale Community Church – Riverdale, ND;
Pastor Don Barsness, officiating; & Pastor Bob Pittman, assisting.

Interment will be held in the spring at Turtle Lake Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Saturday, one hour prior to time of service at the church.

Steven James Walcker was born March 19, 1963 at Turtle Lake, ND to Ted & Irene (Schmidt) Walcker. He attended elementary school in Riverdale and graduated from Riverdale High School in 1981. Steve entered the Seabees (construction battalion of the U.S. Navy) following high school. He worked many years as a heavy equipment operator throughout the United States. Steve was currently employed with Schwarz Construction in Hazen. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and scuba diving. He especially enjoyed restoring classic cars and his passion was his El Camino. Steve cherished spending time with his children and family.

He is survived by two sons, Steven & Bradley Walcker of Hazen; one daughter, Ashley Walcker of Hazen; his former wife, Yvette Walcker of Hazen; parents, Ted & Irene Walcker of Riverdale; two brothers, Gary (Sue) Walcker of Winnemucca, NV, and Larry (Sandi) Walcker of Butte, MT; one sister, Joyce (Mike) Glaspey of Lignite, ND; and many nieces & nephews.

Steve was preceded in death by his grandparents (John & Mary Schmidt, and Phillip & Magdalena Walcker).
