Shirley Johnson, 83, of Washburn, died on June 21, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family. Funeral service will be at First Lutheran Church, Washburn, ND on Monday, June 29, 2026, at 1:00PM. Burial will follow in River View Cemetery, Washburn, ND. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Shirley was born on May 5, 1943, in Page, ND to David and Lois (Baasch) Moug. She grew up in Page, Buffalo and Valley City. She attended schools in Buffalo and Valley City. On August 12, 1961, she was united in marriage to LeRoy Johnson, and together they raised their family in Washburn, ND.

Shirley loved to do many crafts (knitting, cross-stitch, diamond dots pictures and puzzle books) and reading books by various authors. She worked at Dakota Farms in Washburn for over 15 years as a waitress.

She is survived by her children, Rick (Julie) Johnson, Washburn, ND; Ronnie (Diane) Johnson, Pick City, ND; Eddie (Kathleen) Johnson, Lakewood, CA; Rhonda (Dan) Johnson, Washburn, ND; and Robyn (Russ) Smith, Washburn, ND, her 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and two on the way. She is also survived by her brother Edward Moug and her sisters Janice Compson, Joanne Senkevech and Gerry Hogan and many nieces and nephews.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy Johnson, her parents and her brother Butch Moug, sisters Barbara Bolin and Phyllis Zuck.
