Shawn Ray Scheetz, age 45 of Center, ND, died August 29, 2014 in his sleep at his home. Memorial services will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, September 4, 2014 at St. Martin's Catholic Church, Center, ND, with Reverend Ron Hilldahl and Reverend Selvaraj Periannan officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Goetz Funeral Home, Washburn. There will be a prayer service at 7:00pm. Visitation will continue for one hour before the services at the church.

Shawn was born on August 20, 1969 in Carrington, ND. He came into Wyman and Mary Scheetz's life on October 2, 1969. He was raised on a farm in Eastern Oliver County. Shawn was preschooled at home by his teacher Edna Duhr until he attended school in Center. Shawn graduated from the Special Education Department at Center High School in 1989. Shawn was Wyman's sidekick on the farm and loved riding on the four wheeler.

He also enjoyed music, especially, Lawrence Welk and the Erhardt Country Family Band. Shawn was an avid Minnesota Twins fan and Center Wildcat fan and enjoyed watching baseball. The highlite of his summer was attending Minnesota Twins Games with his parents.

He is survived by his parents: Wyman and Mary Scheetz, Center, ND; his sister, Mari Jo Scheetz and Brian Swenson, Bismarck, ND; two nephews: Brody and Chance Porsborg and many aunts, uncles and cousins.


He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Matt and Stella Scheetz and Mary and Walter Staigle.
