Sharon White, age 66 of Cleveland, TN, formerly of Mercer, ND, died March 13th, 2013 at her residence in Tennessee.
Funeral Services will be held 4:00 P.M. Thursday, March 21st at Trinity Lutheran Church in Turtle Lake with Rev. William "Skip' White officiating . Interment will be in the Mercer Hillside Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in Turtle Lake.
Sharon was born on April 9th, 1946 in Walla Walla, WA to Albert and Christine (Schock) Schaible. The family moved to Bismarck, ND where Sharon was raised. She graduated from Bismarck High School in 1965. Sharon attended Bismarck Junior College and Valley City State College, graduating with a degree Elementary Education in 1969. She taught at Wachter and Jeanette Myhre Elementary Schools in Bismarck.
In June of 1975, Sharon married Bill White Jr. and moved to the farm near Mercer, ND. She returned to the classroom at Turtle Lake-Mercer Public School in 1986 and continued her passion for children and teaching until retiring in 2009. Following her retirement, Sharon and Bill relocated to Tennessee.
Sharon loved to read, cook, and bake. She shared her books and food with many people, but particularly her children and grandchildren. Sharon served as a certified Lay Speaker for the United Methodist church as well as church organist for many years.
Sharon is survived by her three children: her daughter Annette (John) Carlson of Mercer, ND; her daughter Colleen (Gary) Kummet of Iowa City, IA; and her son William F. "Skip" (Victoria) White of Cleveland, TN; her eight grandchildren Jana, Henry, and Eleanor Carlson; Katie, Caleb, Luke and Elizabeth Kummet; and Charlie White.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her beloved husband of 37 years, Bill.
