Scott Rodney Peterson died May 29th, 2023 at his home in Sioux Falls, SD. He was 61.  His home was filled with loved ones on the days surrounding his passing. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at First Presbyterian Church, Wilton, ND.  Interment will be held in Riverview Cemetery, Wilton.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.  The funeral service for Scott will be livestreamed on this page at the bottom of the obituary.

Scott was born to Rodney and Anna (Sundquist) Peterson of Wilton, ND in July of 1961. He graduated from Wilton High School in 1979. Scott served as a Patrolman for Tappen & Gackle, ND; Chief of Police in New England, ND; and was a McLean County Deputy before joining the Immigration & Naturalization Service in Kansas City, MO.  He eventually moved to Sioux City, IA, then Sioux Falls, SD, with Homeland Security. After 26 years with INS/HS, Scott semi-retired in 2014 and worked part-time in the gun department at Scheels sporting goods.

Scott married Monica Hoff of Underwood, ND in 1989 and had 2 children, Erick & Dana. Scott was an avid sportsman; he loved hunting, fishing, trap shooting, and competed in many sporting clay competitions. Scott enjoyed classic cars and was restoring a 1955 First Series GMC truck. Scott was also a talented woodworker, having made many pieces for family & friends.

He is survived by his wife, Monica of Sioux Falls SD; son Erick (Jeana Hafner) Peterson of Kearney, NE; daughter Dana (Kevin) Konzem and new granddaughter Eloise Elny Konzem of Sioux Falls, SD; parents, Rodney & Ann Peterson of Wilton, ND; sister Kathy (Theo) Swiontek of Sabin, MN; brother Wayne (Veronica Feist) Peterson of Wilton, ND; and many nieces & nephews.
