Ruth C. Wall, 94, formerly of Mercer, ND died June 9, 2021 in a Bismarck ND hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Mercer with Pastor Randy Emgarten officiating. Interment will be held in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, rural Mercer. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church.
Ruth was born July 3, 1926 in Wilton, ND the daughter of Clarence and Carrie (Schlafman) Gilbertson. She was raised and educated in Turtle Lake, ND where she graduated from high school in 1944. Ruth married Alvin Wall on October 21, 1944 at the Lutheran parsonage in Mercer. Following their marriage they lived and farmed South of Mercer until 1976. They then retired and moved into Mercer. Alvin died in 1984 and Ruth then moved to Bismarck in 1987.
She enjoyed gardening, canning, baking kuchen, making southwestern ceramics and other craft items and also helping out on the farm. Ruth and Alvin enjoyed travelling to Canada to fish and spending the winters in Arizona. Ruth especially enjoyed making embroidering dish towels for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her love of family and for all the time she was able to spend with them.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Nicklyn "Nikki" Tingum of Fargo, ND; her daughter-in-law, Doris Wall of Mercer; her grandchildren, Tammy (Jerome) Gores of West Fargo, ND, Michelle Wall of Bismarck, Tracie (Andy) Gerner of Berthoud, CO and Wade Wall Jr. of Bismarck; her six great grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Breanna, Serenna, Hunter and Sidney; a brother, Elmer Gilbertson of Pueblo, CO; a sister-in-law, Eva Gilbertson of Fargo and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Alvin; son, Wade Wall Sr.; granddaughter, Tammy Wall; brothers, Virgil Gilbertson and Charles Gilbertson; her sisters, Eileen Schaf and Betty Shere.
