Ruth Neumiller Kurle was born August 23, 1925 near Mercer, ND to Christ & Katherine (Klein) Neumiller. She grew up on a farm south of Mercer and attended rural school. Ruth married Theodore "Ted" Kurle on February 26, 1944. Ted and Ruth lived on the Kurle homestead where they farmed and ranched for many years and raised three sons, Duane, Terry, & Dennis. Ted and Ruth were married for 66 years prior to Ted's passing in 2010. Ruth was a devoted wife and was very proud of her sons. She dearly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ruth was well-known for her wonderful cooking and baking talents. On most Sundays, she would make homemade soup and traditional noodles and prunes on Good Friday. She held a "green thumb", evident by her abundant garden and beautiful flowers. Ruth enjoyed refinishing furniture, driving their horse and buggy, hauling cattle with Ted, and watching her grandchildren grow up.
Ruth is survived by her sons, Duane (Jeri) Kurle of Mandan, & Dennis (Kim) Kurle of Mercer; a daughter-in-law, Ardythe Kurle of Washburn; grandchildren, Daren, Chad (Ann), Casey (Michelle), Shawn Kurle, & Anne (Brent) Earsley; step-granchildren, Jesse (Tamie) Kirchmeier, Jason (Ann) Kirchmeier, Julie (Tracey) Gegelman; great grandchildren, Ryan, Chance, Madison, Lucas, & Cruz Kurle, Tanner, Teigen, and Ty Earsley; step-great grandchildren, Dalton, Shauntaye, Glynnis, Elizabeth, Cambelle, Sage, Ashley, Alexis, and Carson; one brother, Harold Neumiller of Bismarck; one sister, Martha Schlafman of Jamestown; and two sisters-in-law, Alice Neumiller of Turtle Lake, & Alvina Packard of Sacramento, CA.
