Rueben Hoffer, 74 of Minot, ND died August 9, 2020 at his residence in Minot.  Private family services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, August 14, 2020 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, rural Turtle Lake.  Interment will be held in the church cemetery.

Rueben was born June 25, 1946 in Turtle Lake, ND the son of Walter and Elizabeth (Boschee) Hoffer.  He was raised and educated in Turtle Lake.  He graduated from the Turtle Lake High School in 1964.  Rueben helped area farmers and then worked for Northern Improvement.  He married Karen Rogelstad Ahmann in Minot on May 5, 2001.  Rueben most recently worked as an over the road truck driver for various companies and individuals.  Karen died October 4, 2016 and Rueben continued to live in Minot where he continued his hospitality and 'happy hours" with family and friends.

He enjoyed breakfast at the "Truck Stop", attending auction sales, fishing and hunting.  Rueben also enjoyed watching his great niece, Morgan barrel race in rodeos and his trips to Nebraska where he would ride with Lyle in the truck.

Rueben is survived by two brothers:  Wilbert Hoffer of Turtle Lake, ND and David (Paulette) Hoffer of Bismarck, ND; five sisters:  Lillian (Frank) Vogel of Bismarck, ND, Esther (Percy) Tschider of Mandan, ND, Ida (George) Sommers of Bismarck, ND, Bernice (Jim) Schatz of Bismarck, ND and Irene (Dennis) Amundson of Princeton, KY and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rueben was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Karen and his sister, Edna (Larry) Pease.
