Ruby E. Enockson, age 92, went to be with the Lord on July 23, 2006 at the Praireview Nursing Home in Underwood, ND.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30 AM CDT Friday, July 28, 2006 at the Washburn Baptist Church with the Rev. Doug Sathren and Rev. Rick Torkelson, officiating.

Interment will be at Riverview Cemetery - Washburn, ND.

Visitation will be held from 3:00-8:00 PM Thursday at Goetz Funeral Home - Washburn, and Friday, one hour prior to time of service at the church.

Ruby Ella Reiser was born on March 29, 1914 in Washburn, ND to John and Minnie (Linstaedt) Reiser. She was raised on her parents' farm east of Washburn and attended rural schools, graduating from Washburn High School in 1931.

Ruby worked in the McLean County Welfare office as a secretary until her marriage to Orrin Enockson on November 12, 1940 at the Washburn Baptist Church. They set up housekeeping in Moffit, ND until1943 when they came to farm northeast of Washburn. Ruby and Orrin raised three children and farmed until 1972 when they moved into Washburn.

Ruby was a busy farmer's wife but also found time to be active in the Washburn Baptist Church and in the community. She served on the church board, was active in the Women's Missionary Fellowship, taught Sunday School and Junior Church. Ruby was a charter member of Star Homemakers, and a Life Member and President of the Victor B. Wallin American Legion Auxiliary. She was active with the Farm Bureau, and served on the board for the McLean County Historical Society, working on the Fort Mandan project.

Ruby and Orrin enjoyed traveling, ultimately visiting all 50 states as well as some foreign countries, including Cameroon, & Israel. In 1969, Ruby and Orrin became snowbirds, spending 25 enjoyable winters in Arizona. Ruby enjoyed crafts, gardening, and entertaining. She kept a daily diary for more than seventy years. Ruby valued her time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was blessed to have much of her larger family nearby.

In 1990, Ruby and Orrin moved to Bismarck and lived in the Capital View Estates where Ruby was active in the condo association. She enjoyed volunteering at Medcenter One for 8+ years. In 2000, they moved to the Waterford where Ruby, at age 86, learned how to use the computer and keep in touch with her many friends and family by email. She loved sharing this knowledge by teaching other residents. In 2005, Ruby and Orrin moved to the Prairieview Nursing Home in Underwood.

She is survived by her husband, Orrin Enockson of Underwood, ND; her children, Dwight (Elaine Schacher) Enockson of Washburn, ND, Cleo (Loren) Hagen of Oak Park, IL, and Candace Enockson of Forest Park, IL; her grandchildren, Ken (Michelle Miller) Enockson, Melody Enockson, Terry (Regina Kaus) Enockson, Tammy Enockson, and Melissa Breitkreuz; and her great-grandchildren, Abigail, Isaiah, and Adin Enockson; sister, Elsie Melick of Wilton, IA; and many nieces and nephews.

Ruby was preceded in death by her infant son, Duane, her parents, one sister, Susan Koenig, and three brothers, Elmer, Marvin, and Orin.
