Obituary
Roy E. Berg, age 89 of Wilton, ND died January 9th, 2011 at the Prairieview Nursing Home in Underwood.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 12th at Sunne Lutheran Church of rural Wilton with Pastor Paul Schauer officiating.
Interment will be held at a later date at Sunne Lutheran Cemetery
Roy was born December 19, 1921 near Wilton, ND to Edward & Anna Mae (Taplin) Berg. He worked with the Civilian Conservation Corps and also served in the U.S. Navy. Roy married Doris Vollan on April 19, 1943 in Seattle, WA. They lived in Seattle where he worked at a steel mill for many years. He and Doris later moved to Alaska where he worked in the fishing industry. They retired to North Dakota in 1990. Together they raised six children.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Berg of Wilton; five children, Ronnie Berg of Lead, SD, Jeannie (Terry) Reindel of Elma, WA, June Sims of Washburn, Jerry Berg of Washburn, & Colleen Kuehner of Seattle, WA; 11 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, & one sister, Marlys Markley of Seattle, WA.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter (JoAnn Nelson in 2009), one grandson (Dylan Sims), & one brother (Harry).
