Obituary

Ronnie Lee Stevahn was welcomed into heaven on July 10, 2023 after a lengthy battle with dementia.

Ronnie was born May 2, 1943 to Christ and Hilda (Bickel) Stevahn in Elgin, ND. He was raised on the family farm 7 miles NE of Elgin. He joined the Army where he served for 2 years before being honorably discharged while stationed in Colorado. At that time, he returned to Elgin, ND before moving to Bismarck, ND. He moved to Lincoln, ND and remained there until he entered an assisted living center and then a care center to help with his dementia diagnosis.

Ronnie loved his children and was very proud of every success they had, bragging about them with excitement every chance he got. His greatest happiness, though, was when his grandchildren were born. He adored them endlessly and attended any event they were in, cheering them on from the sidelines.  He was a very proud Grandpa.

Ronnie is survived by his sons, Terry (Melinda) Stevahn, and Chad Stevahn, his daughter Tammie (Lauren) Sauer, his grandchildren Haley (Blake) Emmel, Amber Stevahn (fiancé Hunter Rodin), Brady Stevahn,  Alex, Elijah and Gabriel Sauer, as well as his adorable great-granddaughter, Bryn Emmel, his sister Deloris Hafner, his brother Larry (Carol) Stevahn and their children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Rebecca.

We would like to send a very special thank you to the staff members at Mapleview and Missouri Slope Care Center for their care of Ronnie these last few years. Your care and compassion is appreciated very much.

A private gathering will be held. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to your favorite charity in his honor.
