Rodney Jesser, age 70 of Coleharbor, ND died Monday, August 22, 2011 at a Bismarck hospital.

A memorial service will be held 10:30 A.M. Friday, August 26th at the Goetz Funeral Home Chapel in Underwood, ND with Rev. Frank J. Schuster officiating. Interment of cremated remains will follow at the Coleharbor Cemetery with military rites provided by the American Legion Post 133 of Turtle Lake.

Rodney was born June 27, 1941 in Bismarck, ND to Benny & Mable Jesser. He attended school in Washburn and graduated from Washburn High School. Following his graduation, he entered the U.S. Army and served in the country of Greenland. He was honorably discharged from the Army and returned to North Dakota to work as an electrical lineman. He married Wanda Kerzman on December 1, 1970 in Washburn. Rodney was a member of the IBEW Local 714 for 45 years. In retirement, he enjoyed fixing lawnmowers and gardening. He loved spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter, Candice, whom he often referred to as "Pumpkin". Rodney helped raise Candice from a very young age and she was the love of Grandpa's life. Together they enjoyed going different places and planting flowers.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Jesser of Underwood; two sons, Brian Jesser of Coleharbor, & Monty Jesser of Bangkok, Thailand; one granddaughter, Candice Jesser of Bismarck; one sister, Carol Zinke of Mercer; and two brothers, Virgil Jesser of El Cajon, CA, & Odell Jesser of Washburn.

Rodney was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters (Jerry Pochant & Audrey Leidholm).
