Robert LeRoy Evans, 74, Turtle Lake, ND passed away July 21, 2021 at his residence under the care of his family and hospice.  Memorial services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, August 9, 2021 at the Turtle Lake United Methodist Church with Pastor Kayla Buckley officiating.  The service will be livestreamed on the Goetz Funeral Home website below Robert's obituary.  Interment will be held in the Turtle Lake Cemetery.

Robert was born November 28, 1946 in Fargo, ND the son of LeRoy and Dorothy (Hanson) Evans.  He was raised and educated in Turtle Lake where he graduated from high school in 1965.  Robert also attended North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton, ND for diesel mechanics.  He married Peggy Borr on October 25, 1969 at the Silver Bell Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas, NV.  They lived and farmed with Robert's parents south of Turtle Lake.  Peggy passed away in March of 2011 and three weeks later Robert's father, Leroy passed away.  Robert continued to farm on the family farm until retiring in 2012.

He was a member of the Turtle Lake United Methodist Church, North Dakota Stockmen's Association and the Turtle Lake Lions Club.  Robert enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing with his longtime friends in Canada.

Robert is survived by his daughter, Terri (Vernon) Cole of Turtle Lake; his son, Brandon Evans of Turtle Lake; his grandchildren, Samantha (Andrew) Klemmer, Trestan Evans, Cody Phelps, Belle Albaugh and Isabella Cole; his great grandchildren, William and Jace; his uncle, Cecil Evans; two brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Terry (Jackie) Borr, Lonny Borr and Julie Borr; three nephews, Aaron, Bryce and Samuel and a niece, Carly.  He is also survived by many friends including, Jan and Shelly Marais and their children, Samantha and Jessica as well as Nathan Phelps, Cassy Dee and his last longest fishing buddy, Billy Parker.

He was preceded in death by his parents, LeRoy and Dorothy Evans and his wife, Peggy.
