Richard "Gyke" Schiffner, 75, of Underwood, ND died October 25, 2016 at his residence while under the care of hospice.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, October 29th at Augustana Lutheran Church in Underwood with Pastor Anna Haugen officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in Grand Rapids, ND. Visitation will be held Saturday one hour prior to time of service at the church.

Richard was born May 26, 1941 in Englevale, ND to Henry & Carrie (Allgood) Schiffner. He worked for Atwood Larson Grain Company for 30 years as an accountant & auditor. He was later employed by the Kjelstrup Farm near Underwood for 10 years. He served on the auditing committee for the Augustana Lutheran Church council. Richard "Gyke" enjoyed golfing, hunting, and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Pat Schiffner of Underwood; two sons, Troy Schiffner of Minneapolis, & Terry Schiffner of Fargo; 4 grandchildren, Jacob, Justin, Jadyn, & Sydnee; and one sister, Dorothy Banderet of Berlin, ND.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son (Todd), a brother (Kenneth), & a brother-in-law (Leo Banderet).
