Richard Dean Hieb, 48, passed away unexpectedly in the comfort of his home on February 2, 2025. A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00-2:00PM on Saturday March 8, 2025, at The V3NU3, Mandan, ND. Cremation has already taken place.

Richard was born in Harvey, ND on October 26, 1976, to Dean and Debra "Debbie" Hieb. He spent some of his elementary years in Goodrich, ND and in Bismarck, ND, attending Goodrich Public School, Jeannette Myhre Elementary and Wachter Middle School. It was in 1991 when the family moved to Chandler, Arizona. This is where Richard attended Willis Junior High. The family moved back to Bismarck in 2000.

He grew up primarily in the Bismarck. While in school, Richard was an honorary straight A student who enjoyed sports such as t-ball, baseball, football, basketball and taekwondo. Football and basketball were notably his favorite sports that he excelled greatly in. A favorite pastime of his as a child was playing the drums.

Over the years, some of the things Richard enjoyed most were summer family vacations, watching and reenacting WWE with his brothers and friends, and playing snow football with his sister, brothers and friends. He also had an intense love for music, collecting cassettes, CDs and vinyls of his favorite bands and artists, mostly from the 1980's. Above all else, though, Richard loved his family and always put his family first before anything, including himself.

At the time of his death, Richard was an employee of Northwest Contracting, Inc. where he worked construction labor, pouring concrete and other odd jobs, like snow removal.

From start to finish, he lived a selfless life. He may have been a little shy and reserved, but his love was radiant and warm. If there was ever one thing to know about Richard, it was that you could always count on him to be there. His smile, laugh, love and presence will be greatly missed.

Richard is survived by his parents, Dean & Debbie Hieb; older sister Jennifer Hieb; younger brothers, Travis & Jesse Hieb; eldest nephew, Jake (Codi) Olson; niece, Mercedes (Donnie) Harrison & youngest nephew, Corbin Barker; great-nephews and nieces, Carter Olson-Weichel, Malakai Harrison, Maliyah Harrison and Gabriella Olson; aunts and uncles, Cheryl Pellett, Patti (Paul) Graumann & Keith (Peggy) LaCoe, as well as numerous cousins.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Fred & Perina Hieb; maternal grandparents, Ellsworth & Betty LaCoe; older brother, Scott "Botto" Hieb; aunts, Diane Kleven & Barb Grad; uncles, Gary Pellett, Marvin Hieb, Larry Hieb & Orville Hieb, and his cousins, Ricky Hieb & Nathan Grad.
