Obituary

Richard L. Dawson, age 82 of Turtle Lake, ND died February 5th, 2011 near Turtle Lake.

In accordance with his wishes, a graveside service with inurnment will take place in the Spring at Turtle Lake Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Post 133 of Turtle Lake.

Richard was born Sept. 15, 1928 in Milwaukee, WI to Lyle E. & Rosemond M. (Crane) Dawson. He graduated from Anoka High School in 1946. Richard served on a U.S. Navy C-2 cargo ship (USS Uvalde) during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1952. Richard worked for the next 50 years as an electrician on the west coast, including the states of Nevada and Idaho. While residing in Idaho, he owned his owned business called Dawson Electric. He was proud of the many friends he made throughout his lifetime. Most recently, Richard enjoyed spending time with his friends in Turtle Lake either fishing or playing cards.

He is survived by his children, Vicki Dawson of Moses Lake, WA, Dr. Bonnie Dawson of Sydney, Australia, Mike Dawson of Clearwater, FL, Lisa Deland of Myrtle Creek, OR; one step-son, Doug Dawson of Reno, NV; one brother, Dr. Keith Wayne Dawson of Fridley, MN; and one sister, Catherine Jean Peterson of Oakdale, MN.
