Richard Combs, 82, of Riverdale, ND died on Friday, June 20, 2025, at the Garrison Memorial Hospital. A graveside service will take place at the Nort Dakota Veterans Cemetery, rural Mandan, ND, on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 1:00PM.

He was born on March 26, 1943, to Edward and Mildred (Copenhaver) Combs. Richard was a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend. He was married to his beloved wife, Carolyn Combs, for 53 years. Their marriage was a testament to love, strength, and partnership. Carolyn preceded Richard in death, and he now joins her in eternal rest.

Richard worked for many years at the Garrison Power Plant, where he was known for his dedication and strong work ethic. He also proudly served with the Montana National Guard, reflecting his lifelong commitment to service.

Above all else, Richard was a family man. He is survived by his two sons, Dayton Combs and Leon Combs, and his brother, Roger Combs. His sense of humor was one of his defining traits—always ready with a joke, Richard brought warmth and laughter into every room he entered.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
