Reuben "Joe" Wagner, age 61 of Washburn, ND died December 28, 2016 at CHI St. Alexius Health in Bismarck.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, January 5 at St. Edwin's Catholic Church in Washburn with Rev. Patrick Cunningham as celebrant. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Riverview Cemetery, Washburn.

A rosary and prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM Wednesday at Goetz Funeral Home in Washburn.

Reuben Joseph Wagner, Jr. was born December 24, 1955 in Bismarck, ND to Reuben J. Sr. & Pearle (Holodnick) Wagner. He graduated from Washburn High School in 1974 and from the North Dakota State School of Science in 1976. Joe began his career with Minnkota Power Cooperative in August 1976 as an electrician. Joe married Kim Welstad on July 27, 1979 in Wilton. Together they raised two sons, Shannon and Preston Wagner. Joe retired from Minnkota after 30 years of employment. He later worked for 83 Express C-Store in Washburn and for local farmers and ranchers. He enjoyed camping, boating, and snowmobiling with his family and friends.

Joe is survived by his wife of 37 years, Kim Wagner of Washburn; sons, Shannon Wagner of Mandan, & Preston Wagner of Washburn; a granddaughter, Jaylia; one sister, Ramona Trebilcock of Henderson, NV; and two brothers, Francis "Jim" Wagner of Washburn, & Robert "Bob" Wagner of Bismarck.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Lee Wagner.
