Reuben Bauer, age 89 of Turtle Lake, ND passed away Friday, June 25, 2010 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Turtle Lake.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday, June 29th at the Turtle Lake Baptist Church with Pastor Bill Oliver, officiating.

Interment will be in the Turtle Lake Cemetery

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday at Goetz Funeral Home in Turtle Lake and will continue on Tuesday, one hour prior to time of service at the church.

Reuben was born September 14, 1920 near Turtle Lake, ND to Daniel & Katherine Bauer. He grew up on a farm south of Turtle Lake and graduated from Turtle Lake High School in 1928. Following his graduation, he remained in the area and began farming. Reuben married Phyllis Klein, also from the Turtle Lake area, on June 11, 1946. They made their home on a farm five miles south of Turtle Lake for many years. In 1958, they moved into Turtle Lake where he operated several businesses until retiring in 1998 at the age of 77.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Bauer of Turtle Lake; one son, Bob (Joan) Bauer of Garrison; one grandson, Steven (Amy) Bauer of Colorado Springs, CO; and one great-grandson, Jaiden Bauer.

Reuben was preceded in death by a daughter (Brenda), brother (Ted), and a grandson (Kevin Bauer) who passed away in 2000.
