Obituary

Raymond Emineth, age 79 of Washburn, ND died Monday, June 30 at his residence.

Funeral Services: 10:30 AM Saturday, July 5, 2008;
St. Edwin's Catholic Church – Washburn;
Rev. Chad Wilhelm, Officiating

Interment: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery – Glen Ullin, ND

Visitation: 4:30 PM – 7:00 PM Friday at St. Edwin's Catholic Church followed by a Rosary at 7:00 PM. Visitation continues Saturday, one hour prior to time of service.

Ray was born August 27, 1928 at New Salem, ND a son to Florian & Magdalena (Dietz) Emineth. He married Armella Wilhelm on October 16, 1950 in Mandan, ND. They made their home on a farm near Mandan. In 1964, they moved to Sterling, ND and owned and operated a tavern in McKenzie. They moved to McKenzie in 1965. In December 1969, they moved to Washburn where they purchased the John Deere Delaership. Ray & Armella later sold the dealership and purchased the Super Valu store in Washburn in 1975. They owned and operated the grocery store until May 1980 when they sold the store to their son Gary. Armella passed away on February 22, 1987. Ray continued to make his home in Washburn and married Verdjie Landenberger on Oct. 26, 1990 at St. Edwin's Catholic Church. Ray enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, and setting puzzles. He was a veteran of the Korean War and served as Sergeant of the Battery "C" 92nd Armored Field Artillery Battalion. He was a member of the Eagles Club, the V.F.W., and the American Legion Victor B. Wallin Post #12.

He is survived by his wife: Verdjie of Washburn; six children: Kathy Blackwell of Tucson, AZ, Duane Emineth of Tucson, AZ, Gary (Deone) Emineth of Bismarck, Karen (Jeff) Roeder of Cottage Grove, OR, Glenn Emineth of Colorado Springs, CO, & Earlene (Bryan) Rothmann of Washburn; twelve grandchildren: Kelly, Jordan, John, Micah, Brittney, Zachary, Austin, Bailey, Paige, Sumer, Chevy, & Dolan; two step-daughters Diane (Jonny) Nelson of Williston, & Kathy Ann Landenberger of Eagan, MN; one step-son: Michael Lee Brown of Bennett, CO; three brothers: Reinhold (Betty) Emineth of Benton City, WA, Ted Emineth of Billings, MT, & Kenny (Elaine) Emineth of Seattle, WA; two sisters: Martha (Richard) Fisher of Dickinson & Lorraine Rummery of Mandan.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, wife (Armella), five grandchildren, three brothers (John, Richard, & Ed), & three sisters (Mary, Elenora, & Pauline).
