Ragnhild was born June 21, 1908 on the 1906 homestead of Sigurd & Amalie (Nelson) Glad ten miles northeast of Turtle Lake, ND in Medicine Hill Township. She graduated from Turtle Lake High School in 1926. She then attended the Valley City Normal School and received a teaching certificate. Ragnhild taught school in the Goodrich, ND area for five years and would ride horse two miles to the one room schoolhouse. She was responsible for all the janitorial work, starting the fire in the stove, and teaching all 8 grades. She married Melvin Sondrol on February 26, 1932 in Fargo, ND. Together they farmed 11 miles northeast of Turtle Lake until retiring in 1969. Their winters for the next twenty years (until 1989) were spent as snowbirds in Apache Junction, AZ. They would spend their summers fishing area lakes. They enjoyed a trip to Norway in the early 1970's. In retirement, Ragnhild enjoyed stopping at flea markets. In 1989, they moved to the Manor in Turtle Lake and her husband of 57 years passed away that July. She continued to make the Manor her home for many years. Her 100th birthday celebration on June 21, 2008 was the highlight of her summer. She never missed episodes of Dr. Phil or Wheel of Fortune. Ragnhild drove her Grand Prix daily to the Senior Center for cards and coffee until September 24, 2008 when a fall broke her hip. Since then she has been a resident of the Community Memorial Hospital swing-bed.

Ragnhild was a charter member of the Sixty-Niners Senior Citizen Club and served as the first vice-president and on the committee that wrote their constitution. She was also a charter member of the 29th Homemakers Club that started in 1950 and served as the first secretary/treasurer. This was the 29th club organized in the county and their motto was "Be not simply good, be good for something". Ragnhild was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her son, Donald Sondrol of Turtle Lake; four grandchildren, Robert Sondrol, Linda (Rodney) Schlafmann, Kevin (Lana) Sondrol, all of Turtle Lake, & Patrice (Michael) Leddy of Albuquerque, NM; nine great-grandchildren, Barry, Nolan, & Cole Schlafmann, Isaac, Mariah, & Melaree Sondrol, Alisa, Stephen, & Kaitlin Leddy.
