Obituary

Quentin Garner Love, 76, formerly of Turtle Lake, ND and Dunseith, ND, died July 26 th , 2021, at CHI Community Memorial Hospital, Turtle Lake.  Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 6, 2021 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Turtle Lake, ND with Pastors Randy Emgarten and Curt Hanson officiating.  Inurnment will follow the service in the St. Olaf Church Cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at St. Olaf.  The memorial service will be live streamed and can be watched at the lower portion of the obituary.

Quentin Love was born on December 28, 1944 and was the fourth child of Glenn & Gertrude (Lockrem) Love.  He grew up on his parents' farm in Greatstone Township, NW of Turtle Lake, ND.

He graduated from the Turtle Lake High School class of 1963. His high school life included football and wrestling, but he excelled in the music department. He went on to college at Minot State University and earned a degree in Music Education.  He met his wife, Karen Christianson, and together they had four children, Leah, Jeramie, Jenny and Lauralee.

During Quentin's career as a music teacher, he taught hundreds of students in many different school districts including Westhope, New Rockford, Garrison, Crosby, Turtle Lake and Kenmare.  He also was a regular substitute in Belcourt and Dunseith "to name a few" up until just a few years ago.

Farming was very close to Quentin's heart and in 1982 Quentin moved with his son, Jeramie back to his family farm north of Turtle Lake, where he farmed and ranched for a number of years.  In 2005, Quentin married Ramona Dallas Poitra.  They made their home in Dunseith where Quentin lived until he came to the Turtle Lake Hospital in January of this year.

Quentin loved and was loved by many people including his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters, sisters-in-law and many, many, others.

Quentin his survived by his wife, Ramona Love of Dunseith; his children, Leah (Joi) Anderson of Turtle Lake, Jeramie Love (Lesley Jacobs) of Turtle Lake, Jenny (Chan) Timmons of Littleton, CO and Lauralee Castillo (Jason Swanson) of North Platte NE; his eight grandchildren, Lyndi (Tanner) Boe, Taralee (Brad) Roller, Bailey Timmons, Carson Timmons, Mia Timmons, Tanner (Charlie) Castillo, Abby Castillo and Graci Castillo; his five great grandchildren, Tatum and Hadley Boe, Jace Roller and Eva and Cohen Castillo; his six step great grandchildren, Ashley, Kira, Xander, Jamie, Jordan and Jayden; his sisters, Kathleen (Jon) Seeger and Della (Chuck) Pedersen all of Turtle Lake; his sister-in-law, Sherry Love of Newberry Park, CA and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Eugene (Julie) Love and Charles Love; his sisters, Orian (John) Cuccia and Audrey (Jim) Sparks and a step granddaughter, Ricqual LaCompte.
