Phyllis Bauer, 95, Turtle Lake, ND died September 28, 2020 at CHI Community Memorial Hospital, Turtle Lake.  A private family graveside service will be held in the Turtle Lake Cemetery.

Phyllis Dorothy Klein was born October 18, 1924 the daughter of Rudolph and Elizabeth Klein of Turtle Lake.  She grew up on the family farm south of Turtle Lake and attended school in Turtle Lake.  She graduated from Turtle Lake High School and then went to work as a secretary at the McLean county court house for several years.  Phyllis married Reuben Bauer, a local farmer on June 11, 1946.  They lived on a farm South of Turtle Lake.  In the early 1960's Phyllis started working at the Turtle Lake Memorial Hospital in the medical records department.  She eventually became the hospital administrator for a number of years.

She was very active in many of the organizations at the Turtle Lake Baptist Church.  She also made a variety of cakes for the community.  She made birthday cakes, anniversary cakes and wedding cakes for almost 40 years.

Phyllis is survived by her son, Robert (Joan) Bauer of Garrison; her grandson, Steven (Amy) Bauer of Tucson, AZ; her great grandchildren, Jaiden Bauer of Niceville, FL and Addison Bauer of Tucson, AZ.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Reuben; her daughter, Brenda Bauer; her grandson, Kevin Bauer; her sisters, Betty Schultes and Ileen Bauer.
