Orris D. Field, 80, of Drake, ND, passed away November 20, 2015 at the St. Aloisius Medical Center in Harvey, ND.

A memorial service will be held 10:30 AM Monday, November 30th, 2015 at the Concordia Lutheran Church in Benedict, ND with Pastor Erin Gullickson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to time of service at the church.

Orris was born June 6, 1935 in Turtle Lake, ND to Gustave & Ida (Holtan) Field. He was raised and educated in Turtle Lake and baptized and confirmed at St. Olaf Lutheran Church. On September 30, 1956, he was united in marriage to Jeanne Hendrickson of Mandan. Orris farmed the Field farmstead 15 miles north of Turtle Lake for many years. He also drove truck and custom combined in the local area. He enjoyed hunting, playing guitar, singing, and playing pool (billiards) with his friends.

Following his retirement in 1987, he and Jeanne moved to Benedict, ND. Orris served on the Benedict City Council and joined Concordia Lutheran Church. He loved driving to the home farm and enjoyed Sunday visits with his kids. In 2013, he moved to Drake, ND and in 2015 to the St. Aloisius Long Term Care Center in Harvey, ND.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jeanne Field of Drake, ND; three sons, Tim Field of Regan, ND, Dan (Mary) Field of Drake, ND, & Chris (April) Field of Velva, ND; two daughters, Debbie Schell of Drake, ND, & Jeanine (Arlan) Helm of Wilton, ND; 7 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, & 8 step-great grandchildren; 4 sisters-in-law, JuleAnn (Peter) Jeffs of Baker City, OR, Virginia (Harry) Blauert of Parkers Prairie, MN, & Victoria (Dan Klukken) Dahlstrom of Hillsboro, ND & Angela Field of Ione, CA & many nieces & nephews.
