Oralie J. Melom, 73, of McClusky, ND died November 6, 2017 at her daughter's residence in Washburn, ND under the care of hospice.

A memorial service will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Turtle Lake, ND with Pastor Sondra Krogstad officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Turtle Lake Cemetery.

Oralie was born August 13, 1944 in Bismarck, ND to Otto & Caroline (Schmidt) Fiedler. She was baptized on March 26, 1945 in McClusky, ND. Oralie attended Holmes Consolidated School and the Turtle Lake Public School. She graduated from McClusky High School in 1962. She married Loren Melom on July 15, 1962 in Turtle Lake. They made their home on a farm north of McClusky for many years. Loren passed away in May 2008 and Oralie continued to make her home on the farm. She enjoyed sewing, painting, gardening, and raising chickens. She also enjoyed jewelry shopping and traveling. She especially enjoyed her trip to New York City. Oralie will be remembered for her love of family and her devotion to her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons, Randy (Michelle) Melom of McClusky, ND, & Myles (Diana) Melom of Ashley, ND; two daughters, Roxann Tweeten of Washburn, ND, & Cindy (Curt) Sullivan of Nashville, TN; twelve grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ervin (Delores) Fiedler of Muscle Shoals, AL, and Carroll (Verdell) Fiedler of Donna, TX; and many nieces & nephews.

Oralie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband (Loren), one brother (James Fiedler), & one son-in-law (Robert Laib).
