With hearts full of love and cherished memories, we share the passing of Myldred Glenda Swanson on April 3, 2025, at the age of 89.  Myldred was a woman of quiet strength, deep faith, and endless love for her family.   Memorial services will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Turtle Lake with Pastor Charles Springer officiating.  Inurnment will be held in the Turtle Lake Cemetery.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.  The memorial service will be livestreamed at the bottom of her obituary, on this page.

Born on August 17, 1935, to John and Glorene Sayler, Myldred grew up in Underwood, North Dakota, where she learned the values of hard work and perseverance. She graduated from Underwood High School in 1953, the same year she married the love of her life, Wallace Swanson, on September 6. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, and farming.

During Wallace's time in the service, they lived in Georgia and Kentucky, but their hearts were always in North Dakota. In 1959, they purchased a farm in Turtle Lake, where they worked side by side, farming and milking cows for nearly four decades. Their farm was more than just a place of work—it was a home filled with laughter, love, and the warmth of family. Even after retiring from farming in 1997, the land remained their sanctuary. Myldred was also a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Turtle Lake, ND and enjoyed crocheting, embroidering, and sticker books.

After Wallace's passing in 2020, Myldred remained on the farm until 2021 before moving to assisted living in McClusky and later to the Turtle Lake nursing home, where she was lovingly cared for until her passing.

Above all, Myldred's greatest joy was her family. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy in her children: Wanda (Don) Mehrer of Buffalo, WY; Cynthia (LaMoyne) Vossler of Mercer, ND; Mike (Barb) Swanson of Hazen, ND; Deb (Scott) Beilke of Valley City, ND; Steve (Pam) Swanson of Turtle Lake, ND; and Marsha Swanson of Hazen, ND. She was a beloved grandmother to 11 grandchildren and great-grandmother to 20 great-grandchildren and one due in July. She also leaves behind her twin sister, Myrtle Breeding.

She is now reunited in heaven with her beloved Wallace, with whom she shared 66 wonderful years of marriage, as well as her son Arthur Swanson, her daughter Saundra Stadick, her parents, one brother, and two sisters.

Myldred's kindness, resilience, and unwavering love for her family will be dearly missed but never forgotten. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved her, in the laughter of her grandchildren, and in the memories made on the farm she so dearly loved.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity, church, or organization in her memory.

Though she has left this world, Myldred's love will continue to shine through the generations she nurtured and the lives she touched.
