Obituary

Milton "Lefty" Walcker, age 75 of Underwood, ND died Saturday, March 11, 2006 at a Bismarck hospital.

Funeral Services: 2:30 PM Tuesday, March 14, 2006;
St. John's Lutheran Church - Underwood, ND;
Rev. Dean Hartley, Officiating;
Interment: Turtle Lake Cemetery - Turtle Lake, ND;
Military Rites provided by the American Legion Post 133 of Turtle Lake;
Visitation: Monday, 2:00 - 8:00 PM at Goetz Funeral Home - Underwood;
Tuesday, 1 hour prior to time of service at the church

Milton was born March 30, 1930 at Turtle Lake, ND the son of Philip & Magdalena (Hoffman) Walcker. He attended rural school near Turtle Lake. He entered the US Army in December 1948 and served in the Korean Conflict earning the Bronze Star. He was honorably discharged in 1952. He married Beaverly Schlafmann on Sept. 6, 1960 at Washburn. They raised two children, Twilia & Milton "Terry", and the couple resided in Underwood for the last 32 years. Lefty worked for the US Corps of Engineers in Riverdale for 29 years and retired as foreman of the maintenance shop in 1986. He is remembered for always driving a shiny vehicle especially his red Dodge pickup.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Underwood. Lefty was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post 6940 of Underwood and the American Legion Post 133 of Turtle Lake for 53 years. The highlight of his life was his family and friends. He never grew tired of visiting with friends and telling stories. His grandchildren were the love of his life and he loved them with all his heart.

He is survived by his Wife, Beaverly Walcker of Underwood; Daughter & Son-in-Law, Twilia & Randall Krueger of Underwood; Son & Daughter-in-Law, Milton "Terry" & Cindy Walcker of Rawlins, WY; 4 Grandchildren: Michael Ray Krueger, Samantha Jean Krueger, Derick Milton Walcker, & Dalton Phillip Walcker; 2 Brothers: Theodore (Irene) Walcker of Riverdale, & Wilbert "Willie" Walcker of Hebron; 2 Sisters: Violet Walcker of Underwood, & Louise (Bryan) Grondahl of Riverdale; & many Nieces and Nephews.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, 1 Brother (Raymond), 1 Sister (Delilah), Mother-in-law (Ruth Schlafmann) & Father-in-law (Albert Schlafmann).
