Obituary

Michael Stadick, age 51 of Winnemucca, NV, formerly of Underwood, Turtle Lake, & Hazen, ND, passed away Friday, November 23, 2007 at a Bismarck, ND hospital surrounded by his loving family. He fought a courageous battle with brain cancer since April 2007 and returned to North Dakota in June to be with his family.

Trinity Lutheran Church - Turtle Lake, ND;
Rev. Timothy Solberg, Officiating; Chaplain Bernie Kunz, Assisting.

Interment: Turtle Lake Cemetery;

Visitation: 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM Monday at Goetz Funeral Home – Turtle Lake;
Tuesday, one hour prior to time of service at the church.

Mike was born April 11, 1956 at Turtle Lake, ND, the son of Donald K. & Ruby J. (Kundert) Stadick. He was raised in rural Underwood, ND and graduated from Underwood High School in 1974. Mike continued his education by attending the Great Plains Supply Trade School in South Dakota. He also attended a mechanical repair and operations program, and received various training from the Cooperative Power Association (C.P.A.). Mike married the love of his life, Saundra Kay Swanson on August 26, 1978 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Turtle Lake. Mike and Saundra lived in Turtle Lake for a short time. Saundra passed away on August 1, 1981, four days before her 21st birthday. Mike continued to make his home in McLean County, ND where he worked for Great Plains Lumber of Underwood, 8 J's Trucking of Washburn, and the Cooperative Power Association of Underwood. He later moved to Hazen where he was employed with Gary Knell Trucking for several years. Mike also worked for National Minerals, Inc. of Minneapolis, MN, the Schrioch Construction Co. of Minot, and has spend the last fifteen years employed with the Newmont Mining Corp. in Winnemucca, Nevada. Mike loved to visit with people and enjoyed fishing and camping. His favorite time of the year came in July when he returned to North Dakota to "do what he loved best". Mike also enjoyed driving his "Chevy" truck and four-wheeling in Nevada.

He is survived by his son, Casey Stadick of Cheyenne, WY; mother, Ruby Stadick of Bismarck, ND; sisters, Judie (Dave) Schacher of Bismarck, ND, Sue Stadick and fiancé Bill Young of Palm Desert, CA; brothers, Tim Stadick of Bismarck, ND & Tom (Maggi) Stadick of Beulah, ND; mother & father-in-law, Myldred & Wallace Swanson of Turtle Lake, ND; brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law, Wanda (Don) Mehrer, Cindy (Lamoyne) Vossler, Mike (Barb) Swanson, Art (Marsha) Swanson, Steve (Pam) Swanson, Debbie (Scott) Beilke; seven nieces and nephews, Camey Emmel, Connie Nichtern, Sara Stadick, Zachary Stadick, Danielle Stadick, Jessica Stadick, Nicole Stadick, & Christopher Laveau; aunts & uncles, Ted & Verla Kundert, Marlene Brown, Louise Stadick, Gene & Marie Stadick, and Duane Stadick; many cousins and special friends (Jim & Becky Zueger, Glenn & Linda Bruner, Val & Jerry Phillips, Ruth Rookstool and family, and Tony & Judy Thompson.

Mike was preceded in death by his wife (Saundra Kaye), father (Donald Stadick), grandparents (Ted & Odilla Kundert; George & Minnie Stadick), uncles (Harold Stadick, Donavon Brown), & aunt (Irene Stadick).
