Michael Robert Berg, 69, Underwood, ND died Tuesday, February 7, 2023 in his home. A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at Augustana Lutheran Church, Underwood with Deacon Jodi Lorenz officiating. Interment will be held in the spring of 2023 at the Underwood Cemetery. A prayer service will be held Monday, February 27, 2023 at 6:00 PM at Augustana Lutheran Church.

Michael "Mike" R. Berg was born April 1 1953 in Bismarck, ND the son of Emil and Marion (Gradin) Berg. He was raised near Underwood and attended some school in Turtle Lake and graduated from Underwood High School in 1971. After graduation he farmed and ranched with his dad and brother Steve.

Mike married his soul mate Denise Bundy on August 4, 1973 In Turtle Lake, ND. They lived and farmed east of Underwood. Their pride and joy together was the birth of their first born granddaughter, Caitlyn. Denise passed away on February 25, 1995.  Mike continued his farming interests with his son, Chad until his health prevented him from the daily operations. Mike also drove school bus for the Underwood School and also operated a road grader/blade for the McLean County Highway Department.

He loved camping and a good campfire, spending time at the lake, ice fishing (mostly visiting with other fisherman) and listening to music, especially the Beach Boys. Mike served on several boards and was a part of many organizations during his lifetime.

Mike will always be remembered for his love of friends and family, especially his grandchildren and great granddaughter.  He was very proud of his children and loved watching his grandchildren grow up and they made him proud in everything they did.

He is survived by his son, Chad (Jen); his daughter, Jaime (Heith) Pochant; his grandchildren, Caitlyn, Chailee, Callie and Chloe Berg and Justin Pochant; his great granddaughter, Harper Jo; his brother, Steve (Ellen) Berg; his sisters, Kathy (Leo) Anderson and Marcia Blotske; his sisters-in-law, Kelli (Clayton) Ruff and Jodie (Roger) Rossman; his brother-in-law, Keith (Linda) Bundy; a very special uncle, Milton Berg.  Mike is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Kimberly Reiner, Mike Love, Steve Anderson, Kip Blotske, Stephanie Neff, Cortney Anderson, Brady Blotske, Sarah Blotske, Shanna Blotske, Jennifer Spendrup, Travis Rossman, Jacob Ruff, Ty Rossman and Dylan Ruff.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his sister, Julie Love; his nephew, Sheldon Berg; his brothers-in-law, Eugene Love and Dale Blotske; his father-in-law, Dennis Bundy and his mother-in-law, Judith Stadler.
