Merlyne "Pinky" M. Murray, 70, Turtle Lake, ND died September 28, 2022 at his residence in Turtle Lake.  Cremation will take place and graveside services will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at the Turtle Lake Cemetery with Pastor Steve Vetter officiating.  That day would have been his 71st birthday.

Merlyne was born on October 27, 1951 the son of Ervin and Ruby (Broeckel) Murray.  He attended the McClusky Public School as a child.  He began working for Regan Construction Company of McClusky as a young man where he learned many carpenter skills.  Those skills were put to work as he formed his own construction company.  He moved to Bismarck where he worked for Melroe Manufacturing Company as an inspector for many years.  He then moved to Crooked Lake, north of Turtle Lake where he built his own home.  Pinky could then fish every day that he wasn't working on someone's home repair.  He was then on the move again and bought a home in Turtle Lake where he lived until his death.  He had his own construction repair business called, Murray's Repair".

He was an excellent fisherman and a very skilled carpenter that a creative way of making something out of nothing.  Pinky was very entertaining no matter where he was or with.  His nieces and nephews will always remember Pinky for his "Donald Duck" voice, he sounded just like him!

Pinky his survived by his son, Mark (Jennifer) of Lincoln, ND and a grandson, Ty of Bismarck; his brothers, Gerald (Florence) of Steele, ND, Virgle (Elaine) of Bismarck, Richard of Andover, KS; his sisters, Sharon (Carmen) Anderson of Turtle Lake, Wanda (Allen) Sayler of Woodbridge, VA, Cynthia (Gary) Thiel of Washburn, Jennifer (Gary) Fisher of Faith, SD and Sylvia (Larry) Schell of McClusky and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ervin and Ruby Murray; his brothers, Harley, Lauren, Orrin, Bernard and Junior.
