Services for Melanie have been postponed to a later date.

Melanie Eileen (Lenzmeier) Oberg of rural Washburn, 71 years of age, passed away March 5, 2020 at home with her family by her side.

Melanie Lenzmeier was born January 7, 1949 at Breckenridge MN to Marjorie and Frank Lenzmeier. She attended school in Wahpeton ND – St. John's Grade School; Wahpeton High School and ND State College of the Sciences.

Melanie married Lynn A. Oberg of rural Wilton in Wahpeton ND on August 23, 1969. Melanie spent a number of years working at St. Alexius Medical Center and Coventry Health Care credentialing medical providers, before retiring in 2013. Farming and agriculture were a large part of their lives. They retired from farming in 2015.

Melanie leaves her family, husband Lynn, two sons, Ryan (Ann) of Washburn ND, Eric of Fargo ND, and three granddaughters, Hannah (Fargo), Gabriela and Zoe (Washburn).

She is also survived by two brothers, Gene Lenzmeier, Fergus Falls MN; Frank (Darla) Lenzmeier West Fargo, ND; five sisters, Joanne Cahill, Fargo ND; Marjorie (Doug) Glover, Batesville, Ark.; Kathleen (Robert) Creighton, West Fargo, ND; Michelle (Pax) Keates, Ventnor, NJ.; Lee Ann (Paul) Folden, Wahpeton, ND and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank all of the wonderful doctors, nurses, and caregivers at Mid Dakota Clinic, CHI St. Alexius Health and St. Alexius Hospice for their dedicated care that helped make her journey easier.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister Judith Howard.
