Matthew Berg, 30, Sanborn, ND died October 29, 2024 near Sanborn from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.  Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, November 8, 2024 at Mission Evangelical free Church, Wilton, ND.  Interment will be held in the Riverview Cemetery, Wilton.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.

Matthew Berg was born March 15th, 1994, to Tim and Vicki (Stewart) Parmer in Jacksonville, North Carolina. After they divorced, Vicki married Aaron Berg in 2000 and Matthew and his two siblings were then adopted by Aaron Berg. He grew up in West Fargo, ND and attended West Fargo schools. He recently moved from Fargo to Sanborn, ND.

Matthew was an interesting person to say the least. He loved to read books, draw in a notebook that he used to carry wherever he went. He loved animals of all kinds, even if it meant requiring Benadryl afterwards. He loved to spend time on his grandma and grandpa's farm in Wilton, ND. He spent a lot of time there and worked alongside his grandpa even as a young boy. He was so proud of the tractor they rebuilt together.    He loved cooking and eating Gramma Lee's baking and cooking.  Maybe he got his love for cooking from her.

Eventually Matthew bought his own semi and traveled across the country, seeing most of the United States.  Matthew enjoyed many hobbies, as long as he could stay busy and work with his hands.

Matthew was married to his high school sweetheart, Janessa Nelson in 2018. They later divorced. Matthew had many friends, and was loyal and generous to them and his family.

Matthew loved talking to people and was known for his frequent phone calls. He was not afraid to give his opinion on anything, unpopular or not.  Sometimes it seemed that he enjoyed seeing the shock on the other person's face. He was not afraid to stand up for what he believed, even if it meant getting in trouble. He was not always 'politically correct".

Matthew is survived by his parents, Vicki Berg, Cambridge, MN; and Aaron Berg, Cambridge, MN; his siblings Meghan (Mike) Langley of East Bethel, MN; Chad of Park Rapids, MN; Abbey (Sang) Han of Woodbury, MN; Brayden of Cambridge, MN; his three nieces and nephew, Scarlett, Coralie, Vaeda, and Leland. His grandparents; Howard (Joyce) Stewart of Wilton, ND; Karen Berg of West Fargo, ND. Uncles, auntes, cousins, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Lenor Stewart whom he loved dearly. Her death left a big hole in his heart. Grampa Kenny Berg, his fishing buddy, also preceded him.

Matthew will forever be remembered and missed by his friends and family. He truly had a big heart.
