It is with heavy hearts that the family of Matthew John Yunker announces his tragic passing on  July 25th, 2025.

A celebration of life will be held on August 2nd, 2025 at 1:00pm CDT at the Riverside Park in Stanton, ND.

Matt was born on February 24th, 1989 to Hal and Valda (Mosbrucker) Yunker. He attended Washburn High school where he played football for the Cardinals, graduating in 2007. After high school, Matt joined the Local 563 Laborer's Union and worked at many power plants around the state. Matt was a natural leader and loved what he did.

Matt's keen sense of adventure mixed with his mischievous sense of humor made him so much fun to be around. He could fix anything and was constantly working on his cars. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, collecting, and the Green Bay Packers.

Matt loved spending time with his family and friends. He also loved his dog Willie and took him everywhere with him. He said Willie picked up more women than he did.

Matt was always eager to lend a hand when someone needed something and he never asked for anything in return. His friends and family appreciated his calm, steady personality and sound advice.

He will be remembered for his kind heart, infectious smile, and willingness to help others.

Matt is survived by his parents, Hal and Valda Yunker; siblings, Amber(Kael) Melby, Tim(Sarah) Yunker and Michael Yunker; nieces and nephews, Lexie, Jewlianna, Logan, Christine, Carena, and Curtis; special friend, Nikki Rothschiller and numerous close friends and extended family members.

Matt was preceded in death by his grandparents, Curtis and Vernell Yunker and Ralph and Agnes Mosbrucker.
