Mary Lou Wood, 76, Washburn, ND died March 8, 2018 in Okeechobee, FL. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Birka Lutheran Church with Pastor Anna Haugen officiating.  Interment will be held in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Friday at Goetz Funeral Home, Washburn.

Mary Lou was born January 1, 1942 in Topeka, KS the daughter of Edwin and Mittie (Deal) Newell. She was raised and educated in Topeka. She moved to North Dakota in the 1980's where she was an over the road truck driver for 13½ years. She also worked at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center and St. Vincent's Care Center in Bismarck. She married Lowell "Butch" Wood on September 28, 2006 on a farmstead near Washburn.

She was a member of Birka Lutheran Church and the Moose Club. Mary Lou enjoyed wintering in Florida, crocheting, playing cards, dancing and spending time with her family and friends.

Mary Lou is survived by her husband of twelve years, Lowell "Butch" Wood, of Okeechobee and Washburn, North Dakota; her children, Eddie (Minnie) Davis of Minot, ND, Staci (Doug) Rebel of Mandan, ND, John (Robin) Davis, Carey Davis, and Mark Davis, all of Bismarck, ND; her stepdaughters, Christine (Larry) Olson of Cooperstown, ND and Leah (Doug) Jacot of Vista, California; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; her sisters, Peggy (Ray) Kampsen of Vassar, KS and Okeechobee, FL and Billie Rae (Terry) Duffie of Maumelle, AR and her extended family of friends from Zachary Taylor RV Resort and Peace Lutheran Church in Okeechobee.

She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister, Patricia Sue.
