Mary Ann Swanson, age 76 of Washburn, ND died Thursday, June 15, 2006 at her daughter's home in Washburn.

Visitation: 5:00 - 9:00 PM Monday at Goetz Funeral Home - Washburn;
Tuesday, 1 hour prior to time of service at the church.

Mary Ann was born March 26, 1930 at Argyle, MN the daughter of Harry N. & Cora (Morgan) Knutson. She attended rural school near her parents farm. She married Allyn M. Swanson on Feb. 2, 1950 at Stephen, MN. The couple lived in Stephen, Bartlett, ND, Lakota, ND, and Leyden, ND. In 1964, they moved to Falkirk, ND where Allyn was employed as manager of the Falkirk Grain Elevator. Allyn passed away in December 1978. Mary Ann moved into Washburn in 1979 where she made her home until the time of her death. She was a member of the Washburn Senior Center and enjoyed puzzles, walking, jam sessions, attending basketball games, and having coffee with her friends.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Sharlene (Tim) Pfleiger of Washburn, & Jon Ellen (Michael) Pflieger of Washburn; 4 grandchildren, Wiley Pfleiger, Chris (Andrea) Pfleiger, Aaron (Brent) Larson, & Jenny (Dwaine) Helmers; 9 great-grandchildren, Brodi, Braydin, Arik, Cole, Cody, Connor, Rachel, Mathew, & Garrett; 4 brothers, Luvern Knutson of Springfield, NE, Wallace (Karen) Knutson of Kennedy, MN, Alan (Janet) Knutson of Warren, MN, & Marvin Knutson of Warren, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband (Allyn), & 3 sisters (Doris, Janet, & Ina Mae).
