Mary Ketterling, 90, Turtle Lake, ND died October 31, 2018 at CHI Community Memorial Hospital, Turtle Lake. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Turtle Lake with Pastor Sondra Krogstad officiating. Interment will be held in the Mercer Hillside Cemetery, Mercer.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Friday and one hour prior to the service on Saturday all at the church in Turtle Lake.

Mary was born November 5, 1927 on a farm near Mercer, ND the daughter of August and Katherina (Bonnette) Boschee. She attended country school near Mercer. She married Daniel Ketterling on October 15, 1943 in Mercer. They farmed and ranched NE of Mercer. They retired in 1963 and moved to Turtle Lake. Mary worked as a custodian at the Community Memorial Hospital in Turtle Lake and also managed a local liquor store. Daniel died in 1995 and Mary continued to live in Turtle Lake.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran church where she enjoyed being a member of the quilting club. Mary was a very accomplished canner, she canned everything; vegetables, fruit and meat. She also enjoyed gardening, crocheting and was a very avid fisherman. Mary enjoyed fishing at Crooked Lake, Long Lake, Brush Lake and the "Canal".

Mary is survived by her son, Jerome (Susan) Ketterling of Plymouth, MA; three grandchildren, Terri (Gabriel) Ortegon of Wadell, AZ, Tracy Self of Gillette, WY and Bradley (Hannah) Ketterling of Longview, WA; seven great grandchildren, Matthew, Paul, Brandi, Jordan, William, Jacob and Abigayle and 6 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons, Bruce and Byron, her brothers, Reinhold and John, her sisters, Frieda, Clara, Tillie, Ruth, Esther, Katherine and Opel.
