Marvin L. Jahnig, 86, of Washburn, ND, died December 9, 2021 at CHI St. Alexius Health, Bismarck.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am on Friday, December 17, 2021 at St. Edwin's Catholic Church, Washburn with Fr. Patrick Cunningham officiating.  Burial will be held at St. Michael's Cemetery in Eden, SD at a later date.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 16, 2021 from 5pm to 7pm at St. Edwin's Catholic Church, Washburn.  There will be a prayer service at 7pm.

Marvin Lewis Jahnig was born on May 27, 1935 in Britton, SD, the son of Harold and Gladys (Bauman) Jahnig.  He attended school in Britton and graduated from Kidder High School in 1954.  Following his graduation, he worked for his uncle on the farm until he enlisted in the United States Army in 19

Marvin married Janice Arneson in 1962, they had 4 children together.  On May 27, 1970, Marvin married Agnes Sattler Wegleitner in Aberdeen, SD.  With this union, Marvin's 4 children and Agnes 8 children, they became a big happy family.  They lived in Britton, SD until 1976, when they moved to Washburn, ND.  Marvin worked as a pipefitter at several power plants in the area.  Traveling where ever his company sent him for work.  Marvin retired in 2000.  Marvin and Agnes continued to live in Washburn until his death.

During his retirement, Marvin and Agnes loved to travel, some of their favorite places were Alaska and Hawaii.  Marvin was a member of St. Edwin's Catholic Church where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the gun club and a past Boy Scout leader.   Marvin enjoyed, hunting, fishing, gardening, history and visiting.  He had a knack for being able to visit with anyone about anything.  He always enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Agnes Jahnig of Washburn, ND sons:  Mike (Carol) Wegleitner, of Coeur d'Alene, ID, Roger Wegleitner of Chesterfield, MD, Scott (Dar) of Breckenridge, MN, Mark (Jenn) Jahnig of Tuscumbis, AL, Bill Wegleitner of Alexandria, SD, Marty (Angel) Jahnig of Wilton, ND, Larry Wegleitner of Washburn, ND AND Dean (Karie) Wegleitner of Marquette, MI; daughters: Lavon Regnier of Huntington, WV,  Doris (Roydon) Lamb of Sioux Falls, SD, and Lori (Alan) Hayenga of Oakes, ND; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; sisters:  Judy Jahnig of Aberdeen, SD, Cheryl Ruckman of Aberdeen, SD and Rita Moore of Gillette, WY and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents: a son, Robert Wegleitner, a grandson, John; brothers:  Harold Jr., Bernie, Gordon, Larry and sisters:  Bonnie and an infant sister.
