Marv was born Dec. 25, 1935 in rural Turtle Lake, the son of Jacob & Helen (Schock) Fueller. He was raised on the family farm north of Turtle Lake and baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He attended rural school until the 8th Grade and continued to assist his parents with farm and ranch operations along with his siblings, Wilbert, Delvin, & Lavina. Marv was united in marriage to the love of his life, Elaine Marlys Hanson, on September 22, 1957 and they were later blessed with three beautiful daughters. They continued to farm and ranch the family farmstead until 1979 when they established Marv's Bar in Turtle Lake. Marv owned and operated the bar up until the time of his death. In 1982, they moved off the farm and into Turtle Lake. Marv kept busy helping out at the local sales barn and was active with the local rodeo association and Wagon Train. Marv always seemed to stay busy, if he wasn't there to greet you with a friendly smile or strike up a conversation with you in his business, he would be on the family farm where he continued to give a helping hand to his oldest daughter and family. You also may have found him at home, taking his daily two hour nap or driving around town (real slow). Marv's favorite activity was attending local "ball games". He was a proud supporter of Turtle Lake-Mercer School athletics and sponsored many softball & bowling teams throughout his years as owner of Marv's Bar. He was a very active member of his community, serving many years on the city council and fire department. Marv was efficient at cooking excellent food for several community events. He had a number of accomplishments, one of them being an elk he harvested in the Killdeer Mountains of North Dakota. Marv's faith and his church community were very important to him. His grandchildren were a big part of his life and he was very proud of every one of them. Marv was blessed with five great-grandchildren and always made time to play with them.
Those grateful to have shared in his life include his three daughters, Marsha (Robert) Holtan of Turtle Lake, Tammy (Stacey) Tanner of Kentucky, & Annette (Don) Coy of Turtle Lake; four grandchildren, Keila (Corey) Eisenbeis of Mandan, Dustin (Becca) Holtan of Turtle Lake, Alisha Holtan of Turtle Lake, & Danielle Tanner of Kentucky; five great-grandchildren, Kylie & Riley Holtan, Jaylei & Tanner Eisenbeis, & Colbi Holtan; two brothers, Wilbert (Alvina) Fueller of Bismarck, & Delvin (Cinda) Fueller of Post Falls, ID; three brothers-in-law, Monty Zingg, Vernon Hanson, & Roger (Lavera) Hanson; one sister-in-law, Eunice Schock; step-siblings, Wilbur (Anita) Fischer, Darvin (Ella) Fischer, Myron (Bev) Fischer, Delma Kost, & Doris Fischer; and many nieces & nephews.
