Obituary

Marilyn Louise Wohlk, 76, Bismarck, ND, formerly of Underwood, ND, died November 7, 2021 at CHI St. Alexius Medical Center.  Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, November 12, 2021 at Augustana Lutheran Church, Underwood, with Deacon Jodi Lorenz officiating.  Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, November 15, 2021 at the ND Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND.

Marilyn was born in Beulah, ND, on April 6, 1945, the daughter of William and Ruby (Heihn) Weigum.  She was raised and educated in Mandan where she graduated from high school in 1963.

Marilyn married Delroy Wohlk on May 14, 1966 in Bismarck, ND.  Following their marriage, they lived on a farm west of Garrison.  They moved to Underwood in 1973.  Marilyn started her career with various clerical and bookkeeping jobs.  She then worked for Lake Audubon Wildlife Refuge as an administrative assistant for more than 30 years before retiring.  Marilyn and Delroy moved to Bismarck this past August.

Marilyn was a member of Augustana Lutheran Church.  She was known for her seamstress skills and her phenomenal baked goods.  She also made beautiful hardanger pieces.  Marilyn enjoyed doing needlework, gardening, canning, and especially enjoyed her time camping and being in the boat.  She also had a love for flowers.  Most of all, Marilyn enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Marilyn is survived by her husband, Delroy of Bismarck, ND; a daughter, Tamie (Charlie) Bisbee of York, ND; daughter-in-law, Linda Wohlk of Washburn; five grandchildren:  Seth Bisbee, Taylor Bisbee, Chas Bisbee, Kacey (Nic) Hinze and Korey Winkler; two sisters:  Marguerite Ulmer of Bismarck, ND and Barbara Schulz of Bismarck, ND;  sisters-in-law:  Eileen Weigum of San Antonio, TX and Judy Weigum of Bismarck, ND; step-siblings:  Jerald (Linda) Engelman, Neil (Sue) Engelman, Harley (Becky) Engelman, and Iris (Brian) Torvik; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Lawrence Engelman; a son, Troy, in 2010; two brothers:  Larry Weigum and Ron Weigum; and step-brother, Kenneth Engelman.
